Who Turned Off The Stars?

‘Who Turned Off The Stars’ is a typographic installation as a response to the issue of light pollution. There has been little exploration of the stars, simply through stargazing, and the importance of our connection and wonder is not widely recognised. Two large-scale statements are set up in the public domain to welcome interaction. Participants can act by simply switching off a set of bright lights, and in turn, a star-filled night sky will be revealed. This serves to enforce the fact that by turning out the lights, and encouraging others to do so, everyone will be able to enjoy the night sky.
